Annie Burt

Annie is a Washington native and currently lives in Olympia with her husband and daughter. She began playing the violin in the elementary school orchestra at the age of 10. At the age of 13, she began private lessons and joined the Tacoma Youth Symphony. During her high school years, she was the concertmaster of her high school orchestra, and performed with the TYS Gigsters, Second City Youth Chamber Players, Tacoma Youth Symphony, Evergreen Music Festival, Kairos Lyceum, and TYS Carnegie Hall Orchestra, performing at Carnegie Hall in 2005. During this time, she also began teaching private violin lessons in her local community.

After high school, Annie studied with Carrie Rehkopf and Heather Net at Central Washington University, as well as with Alex Kerr, a professor at Indiana University. She played with the Bloomington Community Orchestra, Rainier Symphony Orchestra, and the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra. For the past 10 years, she has been an active violinist with the Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra and more recently, has also been performing as a substitute violinist with the Olympia Symphony Orchestra.
